Android 5.0 Lollipop For Your Device

Finally Google unveiled that upcoming version of Android will be called Android 5.0 Lollipop. Now perhaps many of you have might started thinking, will your android device gets Android 5.0 Lollipop update or Not? If yes then when? Nexus:

Along with Android 5.0 Lollipop, Google also unveiled two new devices, Google Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. Both of two runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop right out of the box and will be available from November 3rd in USA and UK. Google also announced that Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7(2012 and 2013 edition), Nexus 10 and all Google Play Edition handset will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop. Latest report says, Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 10 will be the first devices to get Android 5.0 Lollipop by OTA on November 3rd. Remaining nexus and GPE (Google Play Edition) devices will get update by the end of November.

Android One:

Android One devices were launched few months ago and at the launch event, Google promised that Android One devices will also be the one of the first devices to get latest version of Android. And as promised, Android One devices like: Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream UNO and Karbonn Sparkle V will get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update by OTA by the end of November.

Motorola:

When Android 4.4 Kitkat was released, Motorola did a great job by updating its device with Android 4.4 Kitkat quickly. And this time also, Motorola has announced that Moto X (1st and 2nd gen), Moto G (1st and 2nd gen), Moto G 4G LTE, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini will get Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Although Motorola didn’t mentioned how long it will take them to update all these devices. But we assume Motorola will start rolling out the update through OTA by the end of this year.

HTC:

HTC also announced officially that HTC One M7, One M8, One mini and One mini 2 will get Android 5.0 Lollipop. HTC even went further by saying HTC One M7 and One M8 will get the Lollipop update in 90 days after Google releases the final Android 5.0 Lollipop build. Here are some of the HTC devices which we assume that they will also get Lollipop update in near future: One (M7) Dual SIM, One (M8) Dual SIM, One E8, One E8 Dual SIM, One Max, Butterfly S, Butterfly 2, Desire EYE, Desire 816 and Desire 610.

Sony:

We have seen Sony working really hard updating their devices with latest version of Android. Well those who owned Sony Xperia Z family smartphone will be happy to hear that Sony officially announced that all the Xperia Z lineup devices will get Android 5.0 Lollipop update in future. That includes: Xperia Z3,Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia ZL and Xperia ZR. Like Motorola, Sony also didn’t mentioned when the update will be rolled out.

LG:

LG has not announced anything officially regarding updating their devices with Android 5.0 Lollipop. But it’s safe to expect Lollipop update on LG G2, LG G3 and LG G pro 2 in near future.

Samsung:

Like LG, there are no official words from Samsung regarding Android 5.0 Lollipop updates for its devices. But Samsung Galaxy S5 and recently launched Galaxy Note 4 should be the first devices to get Android 5.0 Lollipop update from Samsung.  Samsung Galaxy S4 and latest Tab S series tablets will also get the Lollipop update near future.
